There is nothing like being called in from to work on New Years Eve, especially when you are on vacation. We had a server go down on Tuesday thanks to a combination of the welchia worm, bad sectors on the hard drive, an incomplete Windows 2000 service pack 4 installation and an Exchange 2000 Active Directory migration. Luckilly we could still boot up in safe mode to copy the databases to another box. The reinstall went well and we were able to reattach the database and recreate the print queues so all of the users should be back up and running on Friday. I can’t wait to have a beer.
