Weekend
by Marshall on July 18, 2004
This weekend was almost unexciting. I spent some time reading by the lake, but it was really breazy and I started to get annoyed so I went back home. It is really nice living so close to the lake and I really need to utilize it more. Rob and I went to the Port Washington Fish Day to see Blue Oyster Cult. Rob got off of work at 8 which was exactly the time the BOC went on stage. We missed about 40 minutes but I heard a lot of my favorites. They closed with a really nice version of Astronomy, which is a song that I completely forgot about. Buck Dharma is a god on the guitar and somewhere in the middle of the set, they broke out Buck’s Boogie, which I don’t recall hearing the last two times I saw them. I got back into town at about 11 and was set to meet Ben and Scott at Rascal’s. I walked down there but the bar was almost empty and there were no friends in sight. Headed back home and got a call from Scott, they were going to Water St. We ended up at the Terrace Bar, which was really cool. It had an industrial theme to it but placed on the walls were these color changing light panels which changed colors to the beat of the music. The bar had 5 levels to it and the crown jewel was the open roof bar. Terrace Bar only serves drinks in plastic cups, which was sort of uncool, but made sense. You can’t have drunk people on a roof with glass in their hands and people walking underneath.
Today was National Clean-up-Marshall’s-Apartment day (and aparently National Ice Cream day), which went off without a hitch. Cleaning and wash. What a way to spend a beautiful Sunday day. But my apartment is squeaky clean again.
