I think that Garden State has affected me more then any other movie that I have ever seen. I really need to see it a few more times, but I think that it is close to making it into a Top 5 all time favorite movie list. I have never been able to connect to a movie on a personal level as I have been with Garden State and to a lesser extent, Eternal Sunshine…. I tried to listen to the soundtrak, which is one of the most amazing compilations of music I’ve had the privilege, but can’t get past Caring is Creepy by the Shins.
I found out that Zach Braff has a really popular blog about Garden State. I found this quote on there.
What Garden State’s really about is how short life is. And how we get caught up in so many entanglements and insecurities and worries and obsessions and trivial arguments while life races right by us shaking it’s head at how seriously we take ourselves. Keep in mind that the sun’s gonna burn out in about a million years and truly nothing will have mattered.
