If you ever struggled with the middle mouse button pasting a url into the location bar and going to the website when you middle-click on a tab to close it, try this. Go to about:config, find the preference middlemouse.contentLoadURL and change the value from true to false. Now middle-clicking can be bound to an action like close tab.
